Main Tasks:

  • Work package leader for WP1 - Technical Risks in PV Project Development: EURAC has experienced and scientific staff for evaluating and assessing technical risks of PV project development, emerging of novel solutions, models and inaccuracies in energy yield estimation as well as for leading work packages.

  • Contribution to WP2 - Technical Risks during Operation: EURAC is a scientific organisation and provider of services for PV plant monitoring during operation with expertise in early fault detection, non-invasive assessment of PV plants, BIPV systems, etc; contribution with knowledge and expertise of technical risks during operation up to end of life.

  • Smaller contributions to WP5 - Dissemination and Exploitation: focus on scientific publications.

Main Tasks: 

  • Project Management: Work package (WP6) leadership & main contribution; 3E has experienced staff for scientific and organizational project management with a strong track record in project management.

  • Work package leader for WP3 - PV Investment Cost Elements: As a technical consultant and provider of software services for monitoring of sustainable energy investments, evaluating technical risk and translating it into costs is 3E's core business. With the Solar Bankability project we are searching for new insights in how to assess these risks financially and mitigate them.

  • Contribution to WP2 - Technical Risks during Operation: 3E can dispose over monitoring data from 1800 commercial-scale photovoltaic plants and analyse them with in-house tools to feed the development of risk profiles in WP2.

Main Tasks:

  • Work package leader for WP4 -  PV Business Model Evaluation: ACCELIOS has developed an in-house financial modelling tool for renewable energy projects and has adopted it to different business models and country framework conditions. For financial investors, ACCELIOS has screened PV projects of more than 1 GW and simulated the income of investment grade projects with their modelling tool. The tool was also used to prove the acquisition of wind parks and to develop new business models in the PV sector for a larger German utility.

  • Contributor to WP3 -  PV Investment Cost Elements: As investment advisor ACCELIOS has analysed cost models of all investment grade PV projects mentioned under WP4; as bankability advisor, ACCELIOS has carried out more than 50 production audits at international PV module and inverter manufacturers and prepared more than 10 so called bankability books for technical and financial supplier assessments. Furthermore, ACCELIOS has carried out more than 20 PV utility scale project due diligences. As loss adjuster for PV insurances, ACCELIOS has handled more than 1,500 insurance claims and can contribute its experience.

  • Contributor to WP5 - Dissemination and Exploitation: ACCELIOS via its network to investors, utilities, banks and insurance companies has managed to integrate financial market actors into the project

Main Tasks:

  • Work package leader for WP5 - Dissemination and Exploitation : SolarPower Europe ( the new EPIA) has wide experience when it comes to proper and targeted dissemination activities towards the PV industry, decision makers, media and other stakeholders. With a long updated list of contacts, SolarPower Europe will use all its standard communication channels to promote the project results.

  • Contributor to WP3 - PV Investment Cost Elements: SolarPower Europe as an industry representative will assist on data acquisition when it comes to current practices on how technical risks are integrated into the investment decisions (via interviews). SolarPower Europe will assist on aligning the guidelines suggested by the consortium with the industry needs and evaluate the impact on CAPEX, OPEX and consequently on LCOE.

  • Contributor to WP4 - PV Business Model Evaluation: SolarPower Europe will assist on the overview of current business models and the selection of representative case studies. Contribution to the proposed business models within the framework of reduced classical support schemes (i.e. Feed-in-Tariff) and increased market participation and self-consumption will also be provided.

  • Work package leader for WP2 - Technical Risks during Operation: TUV-RH has experienced and scientific staff for evaluating and assessing technical risks of PV plant operation as well as for leading work package.

  • Contribution to WP1 - Technical Risks in PV Project Development: As a technical consultant and provider of services for PV plant evaluation, testing and certification of solar systems is TUV's core business; with the Solar Bankability project we contribute our knowledge and expertise of technical risks in the different phases of project development.

  • Contributions to WP3 - PV Investment Cost Elements, and WP5 - Dissemination and Exploitation
